Southern Arkansas University is thrilled to offer a series of workshops this April centered on artificial intelligence (AI). These sessions are crafted for everyone—from beginners to those looking to enhance their AI skills. Participants will gain practical tools to weave AI into their daily lives and work.
The workshops are scheduled for April 2, 9, and 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Blanchard Hall 110 on the SAU campus. Each session costs $25, or you can sign up for all three for just $60.
Session One – April 2:
- Title: Developing AI Literacy – How to Use Generative AI Effectively
- Instructor: Dr. Brianna McCartney
- What You’ll Learn: This session breaks down generative AI in simple terms. You’ll explore ethical issues like misinformation and privacy while seeing live AI demos. Hands-on exercises will help you use AI for tasks like writing and planning, making your work easier.

Session Two – April 9:
- Title: Mastering Prompt Engineering & LLMs
- Instructor: Dr. Ahmad Al-Shami
- What You’ll Learn: You will learn how to create effective prompts that lead to better AI outputs. This session includes hands-on practice with advanced techniques essential for developing future AI apps.

Session Three – April 16:

- Instructor: Ms. NaTashia Riley
