Google has recently enhanced its AI Mode, a feature that lets users ask detailed questions in Search. Now, you can get help with tasks like booking event tickets and scheduling beauty appointments.
For instance, you can request, “Find me two cheap tickets for the upcoming Shaboozey concert,” and AI Mode will sift through various websites to give you a list of available tickets. It also links you directly to the booking page for a seamless experience.
These new features are available to users in the U.S. who have joined Google’s experimental platform, Search Labs. Notably, subscribers of Google AI Pro and Ultra enjoy higher limits on their inquiries.
The AI Mode originally rolled out in March and has expanded its capabilities over time. Back in August, it started allowing users to make restaurant reservations. Now, you can ask for reservations based on your preferences—like “Find me a table for three this Friday after 6 p.m. near Logan Square, craving ramen or bibimbap.” This lets the AI find real-time availability across several platforms.
Google emphasizes that its goal is to connect users with reliable information. They acknowledge that since this is still experimental, errors may occur.
Recently, 2023 statistics from Pew Research show that 59% of Americans have some awareness of AI capabilities, illustrating a growing acceptance of AI tools. As more people rely on these features, Google’s move to enhance AI Mode could reshape how we handle day-to-day tasks.
In addition to restaurant reservations and ticket bookings, the AI Mode now includes a Canvas feature that helps with study plans and organizing information over multiple sessions. It also allows using Google Lens for inquiries about your desktop screen.
