Martin Shkreli, dubbed “Pharma Bro,” is infamous for his role in the pharmaceutical fraud scene. He famously jacked up the price of Daraprim, a life-saving drug for HIV/AIDS patients, by over 5,000%. This act drew widespread outrage and brought about lawsuits against him for securities fraud and conspiracy.
Shkreli was found guilty and served five years in prison. His controversial actions raised significant questions about ethics in the pharmaceutical industry, highlighting how corporate greed can endanger lives.
