Uzbekistan is also enhancing the scientific basis of its climate policies. Working with institutes from China, the Central Asian Center for Ecology and Environmental Research was created. This center studies climate patterns and looks for practical solutions to adapt to changes.
Innovation is key. The National Center for Climate Change, in partnership with the French company Seleris, is researching ways to stimulate artificial rain. They are working on proposals to present to the government, focusing on how these projects can work in Uzbekistan.
A new project concept aims to tackle air pollution, drought, and water management challenges. It also includes studying and potentially localizing technologies for artificial precipitation.
These initiatives show Uzbekistan’s commitment to addressing climate issues through a mix of practical measures and scientific advancements. The goal is to build resilience and set the stage for sustainable development, aligning with the aspirations of the “Uzbekistan-2030” Strategy.
