On the final day, Nitin Desai, Chairman of TERI, stressed the need for ongoing discussions among various stakeholders to achieve lasting environmental change. He pointed out that sustainable development connects the worlds of development and environmental protection, which can often seem at odds.

Amina J. Mohammed, the UN’s Deputy Secretary-General, shared a video message highlighting the urgent climate challenges we face, such as rising hunger and increasing carbon emissions. She encouraged everyone not to lose hope and to see the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a comprehensive plan for our planet and future prosperity.

Actress and environmental advocate Dia Mirza delivered an inspiring Keynote Address. She spoke about the power of collective action in overcoming climate obstacles. Her initiative, Act4Earth, urges individuals to reconnect with nature and make choices that respect the environment, emphasizing personal responsibility in creating change.

Martin Raiser, Vice President of the World Bank, discussed the role of sustainable financing in achieving climate goals. He highlighted India’s unique position to lead a green transition, given its capabilities and urgent need for climate adaptations.

The summit also recognized young leaders in the climate space, celebrating winners from the Youth Climate Conclave. Dr. Livleen Kahlon presented the ‘Youth Pledge,’ highlighting how crucial young voices are for a sustainable future.

Dr. Shailly Kedia unveiled the Act4Earth 2025 Manifesto, which outlines actionable commitments for sustainability beyond the summit. Next year will mark the 25th anniversary of WSDS, celebrating a long-standing commitment to climate action.

The closing address by Dr. Vibha Dhawan, Director General of TERI, thanked all contributors and reaffirmed a commitment to international collaboration for a sustainable future. She noted that the summit’s focus on partnerships and ideas would help tackle future challenges.
