India’s rice export market is about to experience a significant surge. With the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) teaming up with the Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC 2025), the potential for new markets valued at ₹1.17 lakh crore is on the horizon. The BIRC 2025 will take place on October 30 and 31, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. It’s expected to attract over 1,000 international buyers from more than 80 countries, as well as 2,500 Indian exporters and thousands of farmers. During BIRC 2025, IRRI will hold live cooking demonstrations featuring international chefs who will prepare global dishes using Indian rice varieties. This initiative will highlight rice’s taste, texture, and culinary adaptability, catering to diverse consumer tastes.
