The GFWC Zwaanendael Women’s Club is hosting a winter food drive to support the Epworth Food Pantry. This initiative is a great way for the community to come together during these colder months.
You can drop off donations at Lloyd’s Market in Lewes or Rise Fitness and Adventure in Rehoboth Beach from February 1 to February 28. Club members will be at Lloyd’s Market on February 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to accept your contributions. If you prefer to donate online, you can use Zelle at zclublewes@gmail.com.
They’re looking for specific items. Some of the requested foods include canned chicken, pancake mix, and pasta. They also need personal care items like shampoo and toothpaste.
The Epworth Food Pantry assists those in need with food on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. It’s located at 19285 Holland Glade Road in Rehoboth Beach.
According to recent data, food insecurity remains a critical issue in many communities. A report from Feeding America states that approximately 38 million people face hunger in the U.S. Efforts like this food drive are essential to support those struggling.
In today’s world, community initiatives are more vital than ever. Social media trends show people rallying together for causes like these. Many local groups are using platforms like Facebook and Twitter to spread the word and increase participation.
