University of Washington’s Ramuno Shatters Career Record with 15 Strikeouts!

HONOLULU – The Washington softball team kicked off the OUTRIGGER Invitational with a strong 4-1 win over Jackson State. This victory marks their 10th win of the season, bringing their record to 10-7.

Sophia Ramuno took the mound and delivered an impressive performance, throwing a complete game and striking out a personal best of 15 batters. This surpassed her previous high of 11 strikeouts against UC San Diego.

Jackson State initially took the lead with a leadoff home run. However, Washington quickly responded. Jadyn Glab tied the game with her seventh home run of the season in the first inning.

In the second inning, Jade Bubke hit her first career home run, boosting Washington’s lead to 3-1. Alexis DeBoer added another run with a sacrifice fly that scored Glab in the fifth inning.

Ramuno sealed the win by striking out the final three batters, ensuring the 4-1 victory.
