YUTOECO, based in China, has launched FluoZero, an innovative greaseproof technology for molded fiber food packaging. This new solution is free from harmful per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and is completely plant-based, made from agricultural byproducts.

FluoZero addresses important issues in sustainable packaging by providing high-performance, greaseproof options. The treated products can handle temperatures between -34°C to 220°C and maintain their integrity for up to eight hours. This feature makes them perfect for items like frozen foods, airline meals, and containers meant for fried foods.

Beyond the food service industry, FluoZero is also suitable for other uses, such as hair dye mixing trays in industrial settings. It offers a more reliable and eco-friendly alternative compared to traditional options.

The products created with FluoZero technology are thinner but offer greater bending stiffness and bursting strength, making them more efficient in terms of material use. Additionally, they have received various certifications, including USDA biobased certification and compostability from both the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) and DIN CERTO, along with compliance under FDA food contact regulations.

According to YUTOECO, the introduction of FluoZero aligns with their ongoing commitment to sustainability. The company is transitioning from process innovation to material innovation, and FluoZero marks a critical leap in that direction, offering a reliable, high-performing packaging option that is also environmentally friendly.

This new technology exemplifies YUTOECO’s dedication to creating a greener future through responsible packaging solutions.
